AVEREE 12 MONTHS

• Is walking RUNNING everywhere
• dancing queen
• says SO many words. Her favorites as of now are "thank you" and "Ca-Ca" (lol)
• pretends to do makeup with mom 
• grape addict
• blows the sweetest kisses
• is sure to say hi and wave to every person when we are out at the store

LOVES: cabinet digging, cheese, Doc McStuffins, posing for pictures, playing in the water, being outside (period), flips with dad

DISLIKES: the big bad word… “No”, blankets or covers, I know, she’s weird

TEETH: 4, 5th is coming on through

TRAVEL: we’ve been all over. our wedding was in mancos, CO. Then we went on a 4x4/camping trip from home to Silverton, to Ouray, then over to Telluride, also in Colorado!

EATING: green beans, bananas, quinoa, cheese, grapes, avocado, crackers

SLEEPING: usually wakes up once throughout the night, wakes by 6:30, and goes back down by 8

CELEBRATING AVE

I can’t even understand how a year has already passed with our crazy monster! Dad and I did a lot of celebrating the day of LO’s actual birthday since it landed in the middle of the week. So she scored 2 cakes. Spoiled?

The theme of the party with was pink lemonade. We kept it pretty simple since I had just finished planning our wedding the week before. Lets just say I was pretty burnt out of creativity for a bit. We played with bubbles, ate some lemonade cupcakes, along with some ice cold pink lemonade. Then went into opening all the awesome gifts! I’m so happy we did cake first. The sugar gave Ave a serious attitude change. She was ALL about ALL of her gifts, which totally shocked me! Every time she opened one she would be immediately obsessed with it, and try and run away before we took it for her to move on to the next. It was crazy hot by about this time, so we wrapped it up with some piñata. These kids were wired. SO. MUCH. SUGAR. oops. 

What a blessing this little chubby baby toddler has been this year! Thanks to all you friends and family who helped us celebrate!

Averee, 10 Months

Ave just turned 10 months on the 4th. Absolutely insane! My heart wants to explode. We just brought her home like yesterday, right? Jordy is always saying "she isn’t our little baby anymore, she’s a little human now" like she wasn’t one before or something, but I guess I see what he is trying to say. There’s something about her becoming a little girl that makes me want to press pause and leave it there forever. 

This past month, she has been absorbing everything! Her little personality is precious (most of the time). We have seen such huge leaps in her mental and physical growth. I can’t imagine her being any more fun than she already is, but I’m sure it will only get better. 

AVEREE 10 MONTHS

• loves the broom, and to get into moms piles of grossness as she goes
• gives big bear hugs when she’s sleepy
• stands up on her own and takes 3 or 4 steps at a time
• cruises around the furniture like its her job
• loves otter pops (thanks Kristie)
• likes to tell us what she thinks. when our ideas are not her ideas. when this kid can use her words, we are in trouble

LIKES: grabbing everything, throwing it down, and moving along. She loses interest quickly. avocados, leftover cobs for sore gums, patty cake (she knows when to clap, and when to put her hands in fists to “roll it”) being held, getting into every single cabinet in the house

LOVES: mickey mouse clubhouse, warm long baths, saying every word except mama, waving hi and bye, dancing, her car seat, her pacifier

DISLIKES: wiping her nose, face, hands… no wiping of any kind is acceptable, sleeping in her own crib (record crying 2hrs 10mins), being told no, changing clothes, when dogs get all up in her bizz-ness

TEETH: zero, nada. I’m starting to get a little worried that the kid is going to be toothless

TRAVEL: this month we hit Denver in the beginning for her first nationals race. She didn’t have such a great time because she got very sick and dehydrated. Then we made it up to our family cabin in Vallecito for a weekend away with the grandparents. Lastly she took her first camping trip outside of the belly for a five day trip in Silverton, CO for the Fourth of July! 

EATING: lots of veggies, pretty much anything mashed up that she can gnaw on with her gums

SLEEPING: still up 2 times a night only because we are disturbing her since she is still in bed with us. I know, big slap on the wrist! Transitioning this week to bed at 7:30-8:00 in her own crib!
