WHATS IN MY HOSPITAL BAG

today marks 40 weeks and 1 day pregnant, so our bags have been packed for a few weeks now, and the carseat has been installed in the car, ready to go. i'm feeling anxious and so ready to get this party started! i've tried all the basics: spicy food, jumping on the tramp (in this blizzard lol), walking, bouncing, etc, all that fun stuff. they also stripped my membranes at my appointment on wednesday. she seems to just be happy to stay in there for awhile longer just like her sister, lucky me! my midwife encouraged me to schedule to get induced this week, but i told her that i wanted to hold off until monday, the 11th. she insured me that they would go with a the most natural medication available that they rub on my cervix, since she knows that pitocin makes me nervous. we both agreed, since going two weeks over with averee made me absolutely miserable, and caused a 24+ hour complicated labor. i'm just going to keep doing what i am doing, and pray she comes this weekend all on her own! they really want her to come sooner than later though since her head is sitting so low, she is causing the bump on the top of my thigh to get even bigger than it was  (bigger than a golf ball), causing more lack of circulation, which could cause blood clots or hemorrhaging during labor. i'm trying not to stress about it, and know that it will all work out just how it is supposed to, so i am just keeping busy and spending all my time with averee while dad is working long hours. we miss him! well, i'm done with my rant, so here's what all we will be taking with us to the hospital with baby #2!   

BABY'S BAG: soyoung charlie diaper bag:  i did a ton of research about the best bag as far as functionality and this one was a  big winner with most moms. its a little on the pricey side, but i think it will be totally worth it. the one i had with averee, i hated and ended up just switching over to a backpack. this one has: canvas exterior with vegan leather straps, shallow bottom, mesh pockets laminated and wipeable interior compartments, completely insulated interior side pocket compartment to hold snacks - also fits a 13" laptop, back slide pocket for bulky items such as blanket, newspaper or umbrella, dedicated sunglass, cellphone and wallet pockets, two insulated bottle pockets, detachable messenger strap, laminated change mat, and adjustable stroller straps. honest company wipes: i use huggies and will be after the box of these run out, but these are unscented which are i prefer for that newborn sensitive baby skin newborn diapers burts bees diaper rash cream nipple shield: this thing saved my life with averee. she wouldn't latch for anything, but this solved the problem, and i used later when the blisters and bleeding came to give me a little break to heal up breast pads: for leaking boobs, girl, you don't want that! pacifier socks mittens lansinoh hp lanolin cream: life saver with sore nipples if breastfeeding hats:  from kindred oak, finn and olive, and one of ave's old newborn ones bows:  from dear river may onesies: i brought three since last time we were at the hospital for awhile while they monitored ave pants warm sweater (its been snowing for days here) jammies:  again three pair swaddle blankets:  kindred oak and aden and anias (worth the splurge, promise) 

MY BAG: zip up sweater:  for lounging and going home in pjs: for after labor robe tank tops loose shirt blanqi full length tank:  very tight and supportive to help pull everything back together leggings sweats cardigan: to wear home slippers lotion (out of travel size of my favorite, renew from melaluaca :( fuzzy socks underwear: big, loose, ugly that you will ruin nursing bras: i'm bringing 3 because i can't remember which one i liked best with ave toiletries: cotton swabs, shampoo and conditioner, face mask for after labor (if I'm feeling it), nude mac lipstick, concealer, foundation, natural blush, eyeshadow (i doubt i get this motivated, we'll see), brushes, eye liner, mascara, bronzer, after shower curling spray, lavender oil, face moisturizer, travel perfume, deodorant, hair ties for ave and i, and toothpaste. not pictured:  medical cards and identification toothbrushes (in jordans bag) belly bandit: belly band that you put on after labor and wear for the next 8ish weeks to help recover and pull everything back together

BUMPDATE: 40 WEEKS

 

 

how far? 39 weeks 6 days

size of baby? big! the size of a watermelon. the midwife says that i am still measuring small, so i'm anxious to see what baby girl weighs when she arrives

gender? girl

weight gain? 27 pounds, not totally excited about this, but its half what I gained with averee. i ate extremely healthy with minimal splurges. i'm ready for these painful varicose veins and lack or circulation to go away so I can get back to being active!

maternity clothes? leggings and maternity tanks with long cardigans are what i live in

sleep? not well, my body is just tired and so ready to meet baby. between bathroom breaks and switching from one side to another, there isn't much sleep happening

best moment of the week? doctors appt today put me at 2.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced, so hopefully the contractions will start any time now! 

weird pregnancy moment? stripping of membranes. that feels great, let me tell ya! 

movement? so much moving

food cravings? sweets, cheese, but thats nothing new. super great cravings, i know. oh, and sushi, give me all the sushi

stretch marks? no new ones, wahoo!

wedding ring on or off? on and loose. my swelling is night and day that it was with averee. the only swelling I've noticed is in my legs because of my massive varicose veins, and very slightly in my cheeks

eversions? the thought of bacon is still repulsing. nothing new ;)

what am i looking forward to? meeting baby girl! we all can't wait any longer. ave asks me everyday now if i'm okay, and if baby is coming out of my tummy yet so she can play with her and show her her room. lol

belly button? in and normal.
